FINGER LAKES WINE TRAILS – Finger Lakes wines – particularly Rieslings – are attracting international attention these days. Both Cayuga Lake and Seneca Lake have wine trails that lead visitors to dozens of wineries that offer tastings, gourmet food and picnic areas with breathtaking lake views.
FITNESS CENTER – Take advantage of the new state-of-the-art fitness center, overlooking the lake, at Wells College. Also available are tennis courts, a pool and nine holes of golf.
OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES – Borrow a bicycle or canoe from the
Aurora Inn and explore the countryside. Ask the front desk about nearby downhill and cross-country skiing. And, in spring, summer and fall, experience lake life in Aurora.
WELLS COLLEGE GOLF COURSE, Aurora – Designed in part by Robert Trent Jones, this nine-hole course is open to the public and offers sweeping views of Cayuga Lake.
MID-LAKES NAVIGATION COMPANY offers barge rides on the Erie Canal, as well as sightseeing cruises aboard vintage U.S. mail boats and other watercraft on nearby Skaneateles Lake.
MERRY-GO-ROUND PLAYHOUSE, Auburn – Housed in a former carousel, this professional summer theater is known as “Broadway in the Finger Lakes.”
SKANEATELES FESTIVAL: Chamber Music by the Lake – Every summer since 1980, the Skaneateles Festival has brought world-class musicians to this lakeside village for four weeks of chamber music, chamber orchestra and children’s concerts.
